Our graduate scheme has been designed as a pathway to management within Addo, providing an opportunity for qualification and education, alongside real-life work experience. Our graduate scheme

Our programme runs over two years, offering two separate pathways of study into Food Manufacturing Management, Operations Management and Commercial Management.

At Addo we are passionate about providing our next generation of leaders the chance to progress and learn on the job – this is integral and at the heart of not only our graduate scheme but also our wider business. All the graduates that successfully make it onto our scheme will benefit from accelerated development into leadership and management, allowing quick personal progression into business management roles.

As part of our graduate scheme, you will also be given the chance to take part in our Mastership Programme. The programme is a combination of educational learning with workplace training, covering modules including Strategy, Innovation & Change, Enterprise & Risk and Finance.

Throughout the scheme, you will be provided with extensive professional development support. We want to ensure you have the best support around you, enabling you to maximise the opportunities our graduate scheme will give you. Each graduate has a dedicated mentor, although they will not be directly involved in your day-to-day work, you will be able to speak to them outside of your projects and get the right guidance within Addo.

You will also be assigned a manager for each module of work you undertake – you will meet with them regularly to set aims and objectives that will support your progression. At Addo providing our employees with the best support possible, is integral to our business.


Our pathways:

Operations, Engineering, Technical and Supply Chain Management

Our operations, engineering, technical and supply chain roles will require fast pace thinking and the ability to adapt to different situations quickly and efficiently. Over the two-year scheme, you will be given responsibilities across four projects, within different areas of the business, lasting six months each. The projects will cover a wide variety of tasks, across a range of departments giving you exposure to our business as a whole. You will get to experience the full manufacturing lifecycle from producing the raw material to presenting the finished goods.

Commercial, Marketing, HR and Finance Management

On the Commercial, Marketing, HR and Finance Management pathways, you will be working across four main departments; Commercial and Category, Brand and Marketing, HR, and Finance. You will learn how to understand and optimise food manufacturing trends as well as keeping and growing customer relationships – this pathway will provide you will the full experience you need to fast-track into a more senior role within our group.


Progressing at Addo

Our graduate scheme provides you with the opportunity to understand the business from the shop floor to the executive level, giving you exposure to all the resources we have within our industry.
At the end of our two-year programme, if we believe you have the drive to succeed within Addo, by assessing the projects you have completed across the business, we will look to place you in one of our sites – in a department best suited to your skillset.


Entry requirements

Having graduated within the last two years with a minimum of a 2:1 degree, in a relevant field – our graduates will be passionate about their role and willing to learn more about all aspects of our business.

The benefits of working with us

Our graduate scheme offers a competitive starting salary of £27,000 – £28,000 per year, with 25 days annual leave allowance, plus bank holidays. The scheme will also see you auto-enrolled into the Addo Food Group pension scheme.

You will be supported throughout your journey with us, including being mentored by one of our Executive team and having the backing of the Groups’ Graduate Coordinator. You will also be given the opportunity to continue your professional development with the support of further studies.

Degree: Business Management and Marketing at Nottingham Trent University

Tom’s role: Having chosen the Commercial Management pathway, Tom is based within our brand and marketing department. His role within the business covers everything from creating content for our social media pages, to supporting with product promotional activity to assisting our commercial team with new product launches.

“The whole team made it very easy for me to fit in, I quickly felt comfortable in my placement thanks to Addo’s great working environment.
