In the last 12 months, the business has invested £2 million to develop a unique chef-inspired cooking method, which produces consistently succulent meat. This is the first use of this technique in the market and has enabled Palethorpes to grow its market presence by winning substantial new business. Using the new technique, Palethorpes has developed several award-winning varieties of hot water short crust pastry pies.

In 2008, the business invested over £1m in robotic packing technology which helped drive improved quality through reduced manual handling and enhanced capacity.
