Dorset Foods is focused on the savoury egg and cooked cocktail sausage categories and has its own specialist manufacturing facility and development team.

The business strategy is strongly focused on innovation and reinventing the Scotch egg category. Most recently, this has resulted in the ability to maintain a runny centre in a warm-serve, cooked egg product, which has initially been brought to market by M&S.

Dorset Foods is home to the recently developed Scrummy Egg brand, which will encompass a family of products that are based on this unique ability to produce a runny or soft-set-centred boiled egg that maintains this quality even when re-heated.

The business supplies Scotch egg products into Asda, M&S, Tesco, Morrisons and the convenience channel.

Management Accountant

To produce the weekly / monthly Management Accounts, including the daily reporting of Sales / Operational Variances and be responsible for the Costings of new and existing products for Dorset Foods.  In addition be responsible for the up keep of the Standard Costs in the ERP system.

Provide analysis through effective Business Partnering with key stakeholders of Dorset Foods to aid with understanding of the P&L.

Job Accountabilities 

Reconcile Purchase Price Variance report and provide analysis and explanation of the variances to the Finance Manager to aid with the completion of the Flash, Weekly Accounts, Monthly Accounts and Weekly Forecast.

Co-ordinate and produce daily reporting metrics for inclusion in the site KPI. 
 

Reconcile and investigate the Operational Variance reports on a daily basis for distribution to the Senior Management team prior to the morning meeting

Attend the Operational Variance meeting each morning to discuss the results and review if on target for the weekly Forecast.

Produce the weekly and monthly Management Accounts by ensuring all General Ledger codes are reconciled for review of the Finance Manager.  Co-ordinate the production of the weekly Dashboard.

Review the Purchase Orders for Dorset Foods and ensure the business is raising and good receipting them correctly.
