Group Leader (Nights)

Type: Permanent - Full Time
Hours: 18:00pm - 06:00am
Salary: £Competitive D.O.E

Palethorpes Bakery, an award-winning and market-share leading ‘Chilled Savoury Pastry’ food manufacturer. Due to growth and restructur in the business, we are currently looking for experienced Group Leader’s to join our existing passionate and enthusiastic team on Nights.

Reporting directly to the shift manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Promoting a safety culture within your area, ensuring all health & safety, quality and hygiene requirements are met
  • Support the Lead Operative and the rest of your team to ensure that production targets are achieved
  • Plan and control manning levels for your team within guidelines
  • Maintain relevant communications with Engineering, Hygiene and other internal suppliers to minimise downtime
  • Develop, coach and empower your team of people to deliver on plan
  • Challenge current practice to maximise the effectiveness of your department
  • Proactively assist on projects in the factory


The successful candidate for this role will need to demonstrate the following skills, qualifications and attributes:


  • Demonstrated Group Leader/ Supervisor, with a record of delivering results within an FMCG manufacturing environment
  • Credible leadership style with the ability to manage, inspire, coach and develop individuals and teams
  • Drive and initiative to deliver results in a demanding environment
  • Practical approach to problem solving
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Computer literate


  • Chilled Savoury Pastry experience
  • Lives within a 30-mile radius of Market Drayton (TF9 3AL)
